RUTH RENDELL MYSTERIES SET 1-TV DVD REVIEW

A blurb from Acorn Media about “Ruth Rendell Mysteries Set 1”: From cold, rock-strewn moors to comfortable suburban estates, award-winning writer Ruth Rendell explores the dark fissures between friends and family members that motivate murder.

The long running TV series that was based on Ruth Rendell’s mystery novels is on this 3-disc box set of the first stories of the series. The Ruth Rendell mysteries play like a Lifetime movie, which is usually geared towards women but better made. Some of the stars also plays like an episode of “Tales of the Unexpected”! “Master of the Moor” with Colin Firth is fantastically creepy and well acted and the “Secret House of Death” is also creepy and seductive.
