MELISSA-TV DVD REVIEW

A blurb from Acorn Media about Melissa: Written by famed English crime writer and dramatist Francis Dunbridge, this PBS Mystery classic stars Peter Barkworth, Ronald Fraser and Moira Redmond.

A classic BBC murder mystery has premiered on DVD with the miniseries called “Melissa” staring Peter Barkworth as Guy Foster an unemployed Fleet Street reporter that has a new career as a novelist. Everything changes when his wife Melissa is murdered and all the clues point to Guy and he goes on a journey to clear his name. The movie also stars Ronald Fraser. The movie was based on the works of Francis Durbridge who wrote many episodes of the Paul Temple TV series. The miniseries spans 3 episodes. The disc also includes cast filmographies and a biography of the author Francis Dunbridge. The episodes were filmed the standard BBC way where all inside shots were shot on videotape and the outdoor shots were done on grainy 16 mm film. No fault of Acorn.
