A blurb from BCI Eclipse “Defenders of the Earth Vol 1”- Tyrant Ming the Merciless and his vast army of evil accomplices are working overtime to eliminate the human race. In 1985, Marvel Comics teamed up with King Features Syndicate and DIC Productions to create “Defenders Of The Earth”. It used 3 of the most popular Sunday comic strip heroes, Flash Gordon, Mandrake the Magician and the Phantom. With the team are Lothar, bodyguard to Mandrake and the children of the heroes. The stories take place in 2015. The first volume of this set contains the first 33 episodes of the series and thanks to BCI Eclipse again have a bountiful load of special features including interviews with the cast & crew, audio commentary for “Escape to Mongo”, full length animated storyboard for “Terror In Time”, galleries, scripts, art cards and detailed character profiles!
