TV PERFORMANCE: CAMELOT

A short blurb from Acorn Media about Camelot with Richard Harris-
Experience Camelot’s “one brief, shining moment” as Lerner and Loewe envisioned it-live on a Broadway stage. Working at the top of his talent, Richard Harris heads an all-star cast in one of Broadway’s wittiest, most literate musicals, filled with memorable tunes.

I remember I had a friend that had HBO back in the early 1980’s which was a big thing back then and I can remember watching a portion of the Camelot performance and was enthralled by the show! Starring the late great Richard Harris, watching the performance again, I enjoyed it immensely. This DVD captures the greatness that was shown in 1983. Along with biographies of Richard Harris and Lerner and Loewe, it also has a neat feature where you can pick out any song in the show and jump to that scene! There is also a DVD-Rom feature with a reprint of the original Playbill from the show. When the original run of the show was coming to an end, it was said that Richard Harris was “sleepwalking” through his role but with this DVD he was at the top of his game.

The video quality is great! The performance was done on videotape but there were no dropouts of picture at all. Excellent quality. The performance runs approx 147 minutes
