After 4 very successful seasons and countless awards, Rising Damp becomes a movie! This film premiered in 1980, two years after it went off the air with all the original cast members came back except Richard Beckinsale who sadly passed away before the film was made so a new character was introduced to take place of Beckinsale. His name was Christopher Strauli as John. The movie’s plot was ideas from 8 episodes of the series for Leonard Rossiter did not want to do anything new but to retell the story. The new tenant in the building and vying for Miss Jones’s affections was none other than Denholm Elliott of Indiana Jones fame. The movie also received awards for its comedy. It made back its 120,000 pound budget. This disc also contains the original theatrical trailer and cast filmographies.
